Some of our JM cross country runners - ready to run in the Luther Invitational this morning. A perfect day to run!

Today, we welcomed Secretary Miguel Cardona and Senator Tina Smith to John Marshall High School as a part of Secretary Cardona's Back to School Bus Tour 2023: Raise the Bar.
As a part of their visit, they participated in a roundtable discussion with community partners including Fernbrook Family Center, United Way of Olmsted County, Mayo Clinic, Cradle 2 Career, and Rochester Community and Technical College - RCTC. Our community partners had the opportunity to share the work being done for our students around mental health, community schools, and deeper learning, and why they partner with RPS.

"This was definitely an exciting win for the Rockets," coach Brian Dahl said. "The girls played an excellent second half by increasing their energy and physicality. I’m proud of the way the girls came together at half to complete the comeback." -Post Bulletin

For many of our students, today was the first time they had ever been up close to or pet a farm animal. The comments were priceless!

Red Barn Learning Farm is here today as part of our Rocket Boost! series to boost mood, connections and overall health.

Rocket Man is alive and well at JM. Keep your eyes open at school and different events to catch a selfie with Rocket Man!

It is not uncommon to see Katrina carrying armload's of gladiolus into JM from her family farm to share with staff members. She's the best (in many ways!)!

As we wrap up this long weekend, we wanted to remind students of the importance of safety, especially as you walk or ride your bike or scooter to school. We made a video with the Rochester Police Department with a few reminders: https://youtu.be/x1kYWW081ng?si=K7MJQdDL3Jz_ybxv

“She’s one of the most versatile swimmers I’ve ever coached so it’s hard to pinpoint which ones we’re going to decide on,” first-year JM coach Lauren Kalwasinski said. -Post Bulletin

There are so many people that make up a football game.... players, coaches, cheerleaders, marching band, dance line, fans, tailgate leaders, concessions, announcers and more. Thank you everyone!

It is a gorgeous night for a football game and the fans have turned out in force to support our team!

Sports are wonderful way to be connected to your school. Thank you to John Bartucz and the Rochester soccer community for fundraising to support equipment needs for some of our players across all of our high schools! We can still use gently used adult size soccer cleats and shin guards, and new soccer socks. Items can be brought to JM Main Entrance. Thank you!

Thank you to JM alumni, Emma (class of '08) and her future Rockets for bringing in donations to the Community Room!
