Spanish Immersion at Riverside (K-5)

¡Hola! RPS offers a Spanish Immersion Districtwide program located in two locations for the 2024-25 school year.

For the 2024-2025 school year, grades K-5 is located at Riverside Elementary. Grades 6-8 is located at Willow Creek Middle School. Both programs will combine at Riverside in the 2025-26 school year. Our Spanish Immersion program follows a 90-10 model, meaning 90% of the day is in Spanish and 10% is in English. Our teachers are licensed teachers proficient in both Spanish and English. The Spanish Immersion program covers the same curriculum and is held to the same standards for success as our traditional programs.

Enroll in Spanish Immersion at Riverside for the 2024-2025 school year

Students are automatically assigned to their neighborhood school when enrolling at Rochester Public Schools. To learn about a family’s interest in attending a districtwide school or program, students must apply to attend a districtwide school. At particular grade levels, there may be a waiting pool due to a greater demand of students applying than the number of spots available.

To apply, families must fill out an application online. All applications are then uploaded into a district database. Applications received by each selection process date will be placed into the selection process, including a random selection process by our computer program.

If selected, families will be notified by the email provided the following week after the selection process date. Students not selected in the initial random selection or subsequent selections will remain in the applicant pool for future space and will be notified if selected at that time.
